The Festa della Salute  is surely  the one which has the lesser “tourist” impact, and evoke a sincere religious sentiment to people.  Also this feast, as well as the feast of Christ the Redeemer, reminds  another two terrible years of  pestilence happened in 1630 – 1631, and it follows the vows pronounced by the Doge to obtain the intercession of the Blessed Virgin. Since then up today, every November 21,  thousands of people living there make procession before the highest altar of the magnificent Chiesa Madonna della Salute  to preserve the ancient promise of gratitude that binds the city to the Virgin Mary.
